The body of missing Mr Wisdom Egonte has been reportedly found dead in a bush around the Agbor axis of Delta State over two weeks after he was declared missing by family members.

Wisdom, believed to in his late thirties, was found on Monday with his two legs and hands tied by his suspected killers.

WARRI TODAY learnt that the deceased hailed from Ute-Okpu in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Ika North East is the LGA the state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa hails from.

A source from the area, who confirmed the discovery of the deceased decomposing corpse to our correspondent, said the unknown killers of the victim left him with his two legs and hands tied together.

The source said the remains of the deceased after over two weeks of search for him.

“Wisdom’s decomposing corpse was found between Sunday and Monday at a bush around Owa Ekei road with his two legs and hands tied together by his killers. No one can actually pinpoint those responsible for the incident.

“The whole community has been mourning since his corpse was found. No one thought he was dead. He was still with the clothes he wore on the day he was last seen. It’s quite unfortunate”, the source added.

A police source at the Agbor Police Area Command confirmed the incident on Wednesday saying that the police were investigating the incident.

Effort to speak with the Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, for official confirmation proved abortive as his phone ranged out at the time of filing this report.
