Delta 2019 Guber: Lawyer Sues Former APC Candidate, Great Ogboru, Over Legal Fees

One of the lawyers that stood for Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru after he lost the 2019 gubernatorial election to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has dragged him to High Court Abraka for his inability to pay for his legal services.

In suit No HCA/68/2021 pending at the Abraka Judicial Division, Barr. Martins Ahweyevu Mukoro summoned Chief Great Ogboru to appear in court to defend his inability to pay the outstanding balance of the professional fees.

The case came up for the first time on 3rd of March, 2022, and was adjourned to 12th May, 2022.

The claimant, Barr. M.A. Mukoro said he was one of the lawyers and assistant lead lawyer of the Ogboru legal team that represented Ogboru at the Governorship Election Tribunal Asaba, Court Appeal Abuja and at the Supreme Court Abuja between March 2019 and January 2020, adding that Chief Great Ogboru paid part of the agreed professional fee but unwilling or unable to pay the balance.

He added that on the last court day after he left the court, counsel to Chief Ogboru Barr. Kini Inemkpo Marcus filed a motion on notice challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter and the motion has been fixed for the next adjournment date, 12th May, 2022.
