The Delta State chapter of the Ferry Boat Owners Transport Union has hailed the re-election victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
It, however, congratulated the governor and Deltans, saying that Okowa’s choice was best for the unity, peace and development of the state.
The group in a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Marine Transport, Comrade Samson Timbowei, on Sunday, stated that Okowa’s landslide victory was the confirmation of the people’s confidence on him.
Timbowei pledged the support and commitment of the group towards achieving the human capital, infrastructural development and peace initiative of the present administration of the Okowa-led PDP government.
The boat owners also thanked Deltans who turned out end masse to vote during the election, saying that the margin between Okowa and his major rival, Chief Great Ogboru was unprecedented.
“The Ferry Boat Owners Transport Union, We heartily congratulate our amiable, indefatigable, enigmatic, charismatic and most ebullient Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his resounding and landslide victory at the 2019 Governorship election.
“Your overwhelming endorsement for a second term by Deltans, is a manifestation of the people for your resounding achievements and amazing transformation of the State within the past three and half years of your excellence service to the State.
“We the Ferry Boat Owners Transport Union have loudly spoken and acknowledged and Deltans have spoken of your good work and focus to duty and we have no doubt that the people have yet to see the best of you”, the statement added.
The group while also congratulating the Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, prayed God to grant the second term administration of Governor Okowa the grace and health to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Deltans.
