The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced 91 new cases of the novel coronavirus in eight states including Delta and Edo, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
This brings to 873 total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria.
Of the number, according to NCDC, Lagos which is the epicenter of the pandemic recorded another 74 new cases of the virus while Katsina recorded five, Ogun had four, Delta and Edo recorded two each while Kwara, Adamawa, Oyo and FCT recorded one case each respectively.
NCDC, in a tweet on Wednesday night, said 197 patients had been discharged following their recovery from the disease.
The death number has also risen to 28.
According to it, “91 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 74 in Lagos, 5 in Katsina, 4 in Ogun, 2 in Delta, 2 in Edo, 1 in Kwara, 1 in Oyo, 1 in FCT and 1 in Adamawa.
” As at 11:25 pm 22nd April there are 873 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 197. Deaths: 28.”
