Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) PDP) in Erowha/Umeh Ward 8 in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have elected Obaro Clever as the councillorship candidate for the March 6 local government election in the state.
Obaro defeated three other aspirants jostling to fly the ticket of the party to emerged winner.
He polled seven against the four votes scored by Louis Onofighe to emerged the consensus candidate of the party.
Other aspirants including Goddy Imeba polled one vote while Raphael Akpobiyeri recorded zero vote bringing the total votes casted during the exercise to 12.
Meanwhile, leaders of the PDP in the ward have warned against manipulating the outcome of the exercise which produced Obaro as the party’s flagbearer for the forthcoming election.
According to leaders of the party, they alleged that there are plot by some leaders of the party in Isoko South who are not members of the ward to imposed an unpopular candidate on the people of Erowha and Umeh communities.
They appealed to the leadership of the party in the state as well as the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi OKowa to ensure that the outcome of the exercise is not circumvented by any politician against the popular will of the people.
