The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State has passed a vote of confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari and commended his efforts at resolving the myriad of challenges confronting the country.
They also charged Nigerians irrespective of political and ethnic affiliations to support President Buhari’s efforts in keeping the country at peace and moving it to the path of prosperity and national development.
This was contained in eight-point communique issued at the end of Delta North APC Leaders and Critical Stakeholders’ meeting held at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
The communique read by Delta APC Secretary, Comrade Chidi Okonji, cautioned Nigerians against making inflammatory statements capable of further dividing the country.
Delta North APC also expressed confidence on the Alhaji Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee in their efforts to reposition the party for future election victories across the country.
It also thrown its support for the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led South-South Peace Building and Reconciliation Committee for setting up a 4-man College of Leaders in each senatorial district of Delta state to oversee affairs of the party in the respective districts.
The Delta North APC leaders, however, demanded for the state chairmanship seat of the party and urged other party leaders to support the move.
Speaking at the meeting, Delta North chairman of party, Chief George Okafor, admonished members of the party against antics capable distablising the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
Okafor also cautioned party faithful in the district to eschew primordial sentiments and always put the interest of the party on the frontline as it will engender unity and prepare the party for success in the 2023 elections.
Also speaking at the event, Chief (Dr) Cairo Ojougboh harped on the need for all to imbibe and exhibit un alloyed loyalty and faithfulness to the party, “I am convinced that with your loyalty and faithfulness the party (APC) in Delta North and of course the state will harvest electoral victories in future elections.
On his part, a former Delta Assembly Speaker and leader of the party, Engr. Victor Ochei, enjoined the group to always support progressive ideas aimed at enhancing the electoral fortunes of the party within the Delta North senatorial district in particular and Delta State in general.
He further stated,” the impressive attendance recorded at the meeting underscores the fact that Delta North has never and cannot be an appendage to our sister districts, and as such, it is imperative to unite and portray our district as one that can excel”.
