The Delta State Government has confirmed that three new cases of the coronavirus have been recorded in the state.

It disclosed that the state now have a total of 31 confirmed cases.

Two of the three new cases were recorded in Sapele while one was recorded in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.

The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, confirmed the new cases in a post on his official Facebook page on Thursday morning.

It is the first time Sapele would be recording COVID-19 cases since the outbreak of the virus in the state.

Of the 31 confirmed cases, the state had recorded six deaths with 12 of the patients discharged while 13 are currently active and undergoing treatment at various isolation centres across the state.

Warri South has the highest number of confirmed cases in the state with 10 cases while Uvwie ranked second with six cases and Udu is third with four cases.
