DESOPADEC Completes NYSC Lodge In Delta Community, Unveils More Projects In Ndokwa Nation

The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has completed a modern National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in Akarai Obodo, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, as the commission intensifies infrastructure delivery across oil-producing communities in Delta State.

The newly completed facility is expected to improve accommodation and welfare for corps members serving in the riverine community while strengthening youth service and grassroots development.

Inspecting the project, DESOPADEC Board Member representing the Ndokwa ethnic nationality, Dr. Charles Olisa, praised the contractor for delivering the project according to specification, describing the lodge as another testament to the commission’s commitment to people-oriented development.

Olisa said the project emerged from sustained consultations with community leaders and stakeholders, stressing that the commission remained focused on responding to the genuine needs of host communities.

He said the Governing Board, led by Chairman, Olorogun Barr. John Nani, and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Festus Ochonogor, was determined to sustain impactful projects that improve the living standards of residents across DESOPADEC’s mandate areas.
