NCDC Discharges 2007 #COVID19 Survivors As Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom Record News Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Friday announced that 2007 patients have fully recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic as the country continues its steady progress in the treatment of those who had contracted the virus.

NCDC disclosed this while revealing that 245 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded in 21 states and the FCT Abuja on Friday.

With the number, Nigeria now has total of 7261 confirmed cases of the pandemic in 34 states and the FCT.

Kogi and Cross River States are the only two states where cases of the virus had not been recorded since its outbreak in the country over three months ago.

According to the figures posted on its verified Twitter handle, NCDC disclosed that 221 persons have died from the virus across the country.

Lagos State recorded 131 new cases to continue to lead the pack with 3224 confirmed cases while Jigawa recorded 16 cases and Ogun got 13 new cases.

In the Niger Delta region, Rivers State recorded nine cases, Akwa Ibom three while Ondo and Bayelsa recorded one case each from the figures. Edo State continue to top the chart with 144 cases followed by Rivers State with 89 confirmed cases.
