…Urges Deltans To Vote Omo-Agege For Governor

By Onome Oghenetega

Billionaire businessman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Morrison Olori, has called on security agencies to call the state governor and vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to order over his alleged directive to his political appointees to disrupt the March 11 governorship election in stronghold of the APC.

Chief Olori, a former leader of the PDP in the state, said such directive by Governor Okowa to political appointees was a declaration of war on the people of the state who massively voted against his presidential bid during last presidential polls.

The APC chieftain alleged that Okowa had in an emergency meeting with political appointees and some PDP leaders in Asaba, following the defeat of the PDP in Delta during the presidential and National Assembly elections, purportedly directed appointees to disrupt the governorship election in a APC strongholds across the state.

He, however, called on Deltans to reject and vote against Okowa’s protégé and governorship candidate of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in the March 11 election by voting en masse for the Deputy President of the Senate and governorship candidate of the APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Speaking with newsmen on Monday in Ughelli, Delta State, the popular industrialist noted that Omo-Agege is the generally accepted governorship candidate by the people, saying not even Okowa can stop the desire of Deltans.

Chief Olori said, “Gov. Okowa called an emergency meeting and urged all political appointees to go and fight and scatter any polling unit where they know that APC is winning and by destroying the electoral materials. In a nutshell, gov. Okowa categorically urged all political appointees that this election is a do or die affair.

“On behalf of the people of Delta State, I, Chief Olori suggest to him (Gov. Okowa) and his daughter, who is a House of Assembly candidate that they should be at war front and all the government appointees should follow behind to fight the total war which he declared on the people of the state.

“Okowa should not kill or send innocent people of Delta State to die for his personal interest. If this happens on election day and someone dies in the course of this electoral process, the blood of that person will be on his head.

“Gov. Okowa should know that he’ll have himself to blame because Deltans will prosecute him after May 29th. Okowa should understand that the present state of Delta was not the State handed over to him by both Governor Ibori and Uduaghan. Therefore, Gov. Okowa is the worst governor Delta state has ever had.

“For peace to reign in Delta State, Gov. Okowa should stop all these nonsense meetings aimed at scuttling the election and let him redirect all government appointees to vote APC/Omo-Agege as the next governor of Delta State come March 11th, 2023.

“Imagine after a negative reign of 8yrs with a failed ‘road master’ without roads, he betrayed the people of Southern Nigeria to pick PDP VP ticket. What was Okowa going to the federal government to do? To sell Nigeria? I am happy that the people of Delta State passed a vote of no confidence on him by voting against him at the presidential poll. By now, Atiku and PDP leaders should know that Okowa had been deceiving them.”

On next Saturday’s governorship election, the Ughelli prominent chief posited that the people of the state will vote en masse for Omo-Agege at the poll, saying that the Deputy President of the Senate is the best material for the state.

Chief Olori assured that with Omo-Agege as Delta governor, the state will witness rapid socio-economic development.

“Deltans have vomited PDP entirely and no going back. Therefore Gov. Okowa political business in Delta State has ended. What Okowa planned for his opponents is what he’s reaping from Deltans. Deltans must reject him with all their votes in the March 11 governorship election”, Olori added.
