Singer Harrysong Arrested By Police At Lagos Airport

Niger Delta-born musician and song writer, Harrysong, has been arrested by operatives of Nigeria Police Force in Lagos State.

Harry Song whose real name is Harrison Tare Okiri was picked by policemen attached to the Airport Police Command, Lagos.

The popular singer, who hails from Delta State, was arrested on his arrival to the country from a trip abroad.

The Reggae and Blues crooner was detained at the Airport Police Command in Lagos where was said to be giving personal statement.

He was arrested on a petition filed by music executive and former business partner, Soso Soberekon, to the Inspector General of Police.

The Delta-born singer is being held on allegation of libel and character defamation against Soso Soberekon.

Harry Song had in a recent podcast interview – Frankly Speaking – hosted by media personalities, Nedu, Husband Material, Toun, and Naomi, accused Soberekon of plotting to assassinate him in Port Harcourt.

The musician, in the podcast said though the matter has been resolved, insisted that the Music Executive sent hired killers after him.

Airport Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the musician.

According to Hundeyin, Harrysong was in custody and writing a statement over the petition filed against him.

In a swift reaction, the music executive, Soberekon, slammed the singer with a lawsuit. In the notice posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Soberekon asked for a retraction of the statement, an apology and N500,000,000 for compensation.

Speaking on the allegation, the talent manager posted, “As a matter of fact, I always mind my business, stay on my lane and put smile on people’s faces. It is very disappointing that Harrysong will make such a false, reckless and defamatory statement.

“Please to my supporters, remain calm, this will be addressed and will be handled properly and legally. Thanks.”
