2019 Polls: Atiku wins four councils in Ebonyi, APC protests results

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi has rejected the results of the presidential election in Afikpo South and Afikpo North as announced by the collation officers from the two local government areas. 

The party agent , Eze Nwachukwu,made this known on Sunday in Abakaliki shortly after the presidential results from the two local government areas were announced at the state collation centre at INEC Headquarters. 

Nwachukwu alleged irregularities in the announced results threatening that All progressive congress in the state would not accept the outcome of polls in the areas. 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was announced winner of the presidential election in Afikpo North by Dr Godwin Okonkwo, collation Officer with a total vote of 20,070.

While APC got 5356 votes and the Alliiance for New Nigeria (NAN) came third in the election. 

According to the collation officers Total valid votes in Afikpo North was put at 26,823, valid votes cast was put 28,349 while rejected ballot was 1526. 

In Afikpo South local government area PDP got 12,181 votes while APC polled 6391 votes to place second in the area. 

The leadership of the PDP and other political parties are yet to officially react on the outcome of the polls. 

In Ivo local government area, PDP won with 12,471 votes while APC got 1,945 ballot in a result announced at the INEC. 

In Ohaozara local government area the home town of minister of science Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, and the Governor of the state Engr. David Umahi.

Dr. Robert Obiyo, INEC collation officer for the local government, announced PDP as winner of the presidential poll in the area having polled a total of 33,651 votes while APC had 2058 votes.
