Former Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the death of Chief Dan Orbih, describing the late politician as a prominent Edo son whose contributions to the political development of the state and Nigeria would not be forgotten.
Orbih, who died at the age of 64, was a former Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party and later served as the party’s National Vice Chairman, South South.
In a condolence message, Obaseki said Orbih’s death represented a significant loss to Edo State and the nation, particularly given his long years of involvement in public affairs and party politics
The former governor said the deceased played an influential role in strengthening the PDP in Edo and across the country through his years of leadership and political engagement.
According to him, Orbih’s contributions had earned him a place in the political history of Edo State.
Obaseki expressed sympathy with Orbih’s wife, children, family members, political associates, friends and other well-wishers over the loss.
He prayed that God would grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss while granting the deceased eternal rest.
“Chief Orbih was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and an influential voice in Edo State,” Obaseki said.
He added that the late politician’s passing was “a significant loss to the state and the nation.”
