A Delta State-born development advocate and environmental rights activist, Chief Mulade Sheriff, has declared his intention to contest the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election, pledging to drive sustainable development and inclusive representation.
Mulade, the Ibe-Serimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, made the declaration in a statement on Tuesday, calling on electorates across the constituency to support his bid to represent them at the National Assembly.
The United Nations Peace Ambassador said his aspiration was rooted in a commitment to reposition the constituency through people-oriented policies aimed at addressing developmental gaps.
“I am appealing to the electorates in Warri Federal Constituency to make a wise choice in the 2027 general election by voting for me. I am your own, and I want to pledge purposeful, unity-driven, people-oriented and all-inclusive representation,” he said.
He outlined his legislative priorities to include economic empowerment, job creation and skills acquisition, assuring constituents of accessible, reliable and responsive representation.
Mulade also urged political actors to adopt issue-based campaigns and shun divisive rhetoric, stressing the importance of unity before and after elections.
“Campaigns should not be about calumny and hate. They should be driven by purpose and decorum. After elections, the people remain one indivisible entity,” he added.
He further emphasised that his tenure, if elected, would prioritise the empowerment of youths, women and the elderly, whom he described as the most vulnerable in society.
Mulade’s declaration comes amid early political realignments ahead of the 2027 general election, as stakeholders intensify consultations across the Warri Federal Constituency.
