By Chidi Chukwutem

As members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Delta North prepare for the senatorial primary election on Monday, May 18, the moment calls for wisdom, courage, and sincerity of purpose. This is not merely a political exercise; it is a defining decision about the future of Anioma land, the direction of representation, and the kind of voice Delta North will send to the National Assembly.

At critical moments in history, people are remembered not for the promises they heard, but for the choices they made. The APC faithful across Delta North must therefore resist every temptation to mortgage the future of the district for temporary gains, political pressure, political godfathers or personal inducements. The destiny of Anioma people is too important to be traded away.

The primary election presents APC members with two contrasting political paths. On one side stands Senator Ned Nwoko, a man whose political journey has consistently reflected boldness, visibility, and a deep commitment to the Anioma cause. On the other side are forces associated with the old political order that many people believe contributed to years of underdevelopment, stagnation, and political exclusion in Delta State.

For many Anioma people, this election is bigger than personalities. It is about choosing a candidate with energy, clear direction, and the courage to challenge the status quo in the interest of Delta North.

Senator Ned Nwoko has, over the years, distinguished himself as a politician with a strong international network, legislative visibility, and uncommon passion for regional development. His advocacy for the creation of Anioma State has rekindled hopes among many sons and daughters of Delta North who desire greater political identity, inclusion, and accelerated development. Whether in infrastructure conversations, educational support, youth empowerment, or national debates, he has projected the Anioma agenda boldly and unapologetically.

More importantly, Ned Nwoko represents a future-oriented political vision. At a time when Nigerians are demanding leaders who can attract opportunities, investments, and federal presence to their constituencies, Delta North needs a senator with reach, influence, and strategic relevance at the national level. The district cannot afford to move backward politically when there is an opportunity to consolidate on visibility and progress.

APC members must also remember that political parties grow stronger when they reward commitment, loyalty, and capacity. The party in Delta North needs a candidate who can energize the grassroots, attract wider public support, and position the APC competitively ahead of future elections. Many political observers believe Senator Ned Nwoko possesses that wider appeal and political momentum.

This primary election should therefore not be influenced by intimidation, financial inducement, or emotional sentiments. APC members must vote with conscience and with the interest of future generations in mind. History has shown repeatedly that when leaders emerge through transactional politics, the people eventually pay the price through poor representation and lost opportunities.

Anioma land deserves purposeful representation. Delta North deserves a senator who will speak strongly, negotiate boldly, and deliver meaningfully. The choice before APC members is not just about today’s politics; it is about tomorrow’s legacy.

As the members cast their votes, they must ask themselves a simple question: who truly represents the aspirations, dignity, and future of Anioma people?

For many across Delta North, the answer is increasingly clear — Senator Ned Nwoko remains the aspirant with the vision, courage, and commitment to move Anioma forward.

The future of Delta North must not be sold. It must be protected, defended, and entrusted to capable hands. And that capable hand is Senator Ned Nwoko.
