Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has celebrated the Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Chief Dr. Ighoyota Amori, on his 74th birthday, describing him as a distinguished statesman, consummate political strategist and influential Pan-Urhobo leader.
Dafinone, in a birthday message, hailed Amori’s remarkable journey in public service and politics, saying his career since the return to democratic rule in 1999 had been defined by courage, resilience, loyalty and an enduring commitment to the growth and stability of Delta State.
The senator said Amori had remained a prominent force in the political development of the state, contributing significantly to the evolution and stabilisation of governance across successive administrations.
He said the veteran politician’s efforts had helped strengthen political structures, promote continuity and foster stability and effective governance in Delta State.
Dafinone also praised Amori’s leadership within the Urhobo Nation, noting his consistent commitment to the unity, progress and advancement of the Urhobo people while recognising the need for a peaceful, prosperous and united Delta State.
He said Amori’s political relevance over the years was sustained not merely by longevity but by his capacity to remain engaged, accessible and responsive to the aspirations of the people.
According to him, those qualities have earned Amori a distinctive place in the political history of Delta State.
“As a committed Pan-Urhobo leader, you have consistently demonstrated an abiding interest in the unity, progress and advancement of the Urhobo Nation, while also appreciating the broader responsibility of building a peaceful, prosperous and united Delta State,” Dafinone said.
