A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Morrison Olori, has accused the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP and Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, for allegedly instigating the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from obeying the judgement of the Abuja Federal High Court which affirming Olorogun David Edevbie as the governorship candidate of the party in Delta.

Chief Olori, however, tasked the leadership of the party including governors and members of the Board of Trustees, to forestall imminent sinking of the party in Delta over the crisis rocking the PDP as a result of the court judgement.

In a statement on Friday the businessman turned politician noted that concerted efforts must be made to ensure that the party is rescued from those plotting to sink Delta PDP.

According to him, “A lay man, who did not study law, understands court Judgement. Upon this premise both Okowa and Ayu are still on the lane of wickedness to PDP in Delta state.

“Here is my voice, crying for help from the Governors, Board of Trustees and all stakeholders of our party with the aim of saving our party from sinking.

“We are fully aware that the money Okowa borrowed is what he is using to sink the party hence my sincere cry to all to quickly savage our party.”

Chief Olori explained that the current structure of PDP in Delta was created by former Governor James Ibori, who fought hard to ensure that Senator Okowa emerged governor of the state in 2015.

“His Excellency, former Governor James Onanefe Ibori created the structure that we have today in Delta PDP. The likes of Governor Okowa, former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator James Manager, Olorogun David Edevbie, etc. are all part and parcel of Gov. Ibori structure.

“The structure believes in a win-win policy but Gov .Okowa due to his Judas Iscariot attitude is bent on selling out the party. Okowa injected bad blood into some of Ibori,’s structures by which some of them took side with him.

“Okowa wants to step into the big shoes of Gov Ibori but he does not have the wherewithal to do it.  Just imagine till date, Okowa as well as Ayu are unable to resolve the PDP crisis in Delta state.

“Rather they are the one fueling the tussle by disobeying court order and continuing with his intimidate policy and sacking of any one in government supporting Olorogun David Edevbie.

“Just as he did to Senator Peter Nwaoboshi whereby he dumped PDP for APC. This is completely bad considering that the 2023 elections are fast approaching.

“Finally, we are aware of the ongoing reconciliation at the national level of our party but I wish to quickly add that Delta PDP should also be included in the reconciliation. Okowa told the world that Gov Ibori is the leader of Delta State. Let’s quickly bring Gov Ibori on board so that we can buy some of his great experience with which we can quickly resolve the PDP Delta state crisis.”

Meanwhile efforts to get Governor Okowa’s response through his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, on the allegation proved abortive as of the time of filing this report.
