Ex-Delta Council Chairman Resigns From PDP, Sets To Join APC With Supporters

As the gale of defection continues to hit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, the immediate past chairman of Udu local government council in the state, Chief Solomon Kpomah, has resigned his membership of the party.

In a letter addressed to the party chairman Udu ward 1, Chief Kpomah, said his reasons for dumping the party were personal.

A copy of the letter obtained by NIGER DELTA TODAY correspondent on Saturday, the former Udu council boss said he would soon announce his next line political move in the days ahead.

However, our correspondent gathered that Kpomah, a  member Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), would be joining the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the governorship election in the state.

Sources close to the former council chairman disclosed that plans are in completion stage for his defection with thousands of his supporters to the APC.

Kpomah’s resignation letter read, “I wish to resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect, due to personal reasons.

“I appreciate my teeming followers, support, friends, and family members. I enjoin them to take it in good faith as I shall keep them informed of my next move.”

Recall that scores of PDP heavyweights have been dumping the PDP for APC over the crisis that greeted the party following last year’s primaries.
