Federal lawmaker, Rev Francis Ejiroghene Waive, has won the House of Representatives ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency.
Waive defeated two other contenders to become the flagbearer of the party to seek re-election in the 2023 general elections.
The two opponents are; Mrs. Obukomena Ibru-Mukoro, daughter of billionaire businessman, Micheal Ibru; and Ogheneavona Uwedahwe, a legal practitioner.
Waive, who is the incumbent member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, polled 107 votes to emerged as the winner.
Obukomena scored 41 votes to become the runner-up while Uwedahwe recorded three votes during the primaries conducted at the premises of Ovwian/Aladja Police Division in Udu, Delta State.
Mr. Ambrose Egwunatun, APC returning officer, while announcing the results, said 154 delegates were accredited to participate in the exercise but three did not vote after accreditation exercise.
An elated Waive, while addressing journalists after being declared as the winner, commended party delegates for voting for him during the primaries.
He added that his victories belongs to all the aspirants and members of APC in the Constituency, stressing that the party will win again in 2023.
He also thanked the party officials and INEC for conducting a free and fair primaries.
