Popular businessman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Morrison Olori, has accused Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of promising to reward PDP chieftains in the various councils in the state where the party secure victory with N1 billion in the March 18 governorship election.

Chief Olori alleged that the move is part of desperate moves by Okowa to secure victory for the PDP governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other PDP candidates in the election.

He spoke while reacting to the payment of N10,000 by the state government on the order of Okowa to state civil servants and LG workers across the 25 councils.

The prominent Ughelli chief said Deltans have rejected Okowa and the PDP, stressing that no amount of money will stop the imminent defeat against him and his party.

“There is fire on the mountain. The latest report I have is that Okowa has urged all the appointees, local government chairmen to go win their own local government with a promise reward of N1billion naira.

“It is obvious that he really wants to share blood in Delta State. This is because Deltans has rejected Gov. Okowa and there is no going back. For Okowa to plan such a thing, it means he is telling the people to go and fight. If they die in the process how will they get the N1billion.

“Mr. Governor, please leave Delta alone. Deltans will never go that direction, we have made up our minds to vote APC/Omo-Agege. The regime of PDP is gone in Delta, even in Nigeria in general. We are rejecting them because of what they have done”, Olori posited.

On the recent payment of N10,000 each to Delta workers, he said, “Okowa has paid the whole Delta State workers 10,000 each and this money is not the major point. What about the arrears and entitlements for the workers? Will the 10,000 survive them for next four years? Okowa should share the 1billion to the state workers and not the local government chairmen. He should use the 1billion to pay pensioners so that he can have his own peace. Okowa must give an account to Deltans.

“We Deltans urge you to use that money to pay pensioners and pay state government workers their allowances.

“Okowa said he will retire James Ibori from politics, and as God has made it, he’ll retire himself because there is nowhere to go any longer.”
