NPDC Donates Seven Transformers, 300 Freezers To Delta Communities

Seven Non-Oil and Gas Asset communities hosting OML 65 and NOGA in Delta state have received boost to social and economic activities in the area from the Management of Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).

The company donated seven 500KVA and 300 KVA step down transformers to improve else electricity supply in the area.

Other items donated include 3,000 school chairs and desks, 300 solar-powered deep freezers to selected members of the communities.

The Deputy Manager, Community Relations Department (CRD), Noble Imabibo, presented the items to members of the communities on behalf of the Managing Director of NPDC, Mansur Sambo.

Sambo who said the items are to be shared equally among the seven communities in the Non-Oil and Gas Asset (NOGA) and OML 65 assets host communities, added that the company donated the items to boost their economic activities, as well as ameliorate the untold hardship facing the people of the communities.

“The items will in no doubt improve the presence of social amenities and life of the people.

“It is therefore pertinent to utilize the kind gesture to better your life and that of your families.

“NPDC is a friend to the communities where its operates. We are partners in progress and we share a common bond towards sustaining the existing mutual relationship,” Sambo said.

H assured that the company will continue to leverage on their peaceful co-existence, as well as improve on its corporate social responsibilities, to bring about development in the host communities.

“l advise you to eschew all forms of violence, radicalism and other actions capable of creating societal unrest,” he added.

President general of Okorofiangbe community in Warri South local government area, Mr. Misan Ogbegbe, who received the items on behalf of the benefiting communities, thanked NPDC for the gesture.

He however urged the management of NPDC to do more for them, even as he called on other corporate organisations to take their corporate social responsibilities to their host communities seriously.
