2019: Ogodo faction to boycott inauguration of George Timinimi-led Delta APC campaign council tomorrow

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will tomorrow (Friday) inaugurate its Campaign Council/Governorship Campaign Committees.

A former Commissioner for Water Resources under the administration of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan , Mr. George Timinimi, will head the council as Director-General.

WARRI TODAY gathered that the appointment of Timinimi by the APC was deliberately done tackle PDP in Ijaw land which is mostly PDP.

The inauguration of the campaign council will hold at Orchids Hotel in Asaba, the State Capital.

The event will commenced at 12 noon.

The governorship candidate of the party, Chief Great Ogboru, immediate past governor of the state and senatorial candidate for Delta South, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege are expected to lead top members of the party to the event.

It was, however, gathered that some aggrieved member of the party may boycott the inauguration owing to the composition of the council.

Information also had it that the faction of the party being led by Chief Cyril Ogodo will not also attend the inauguration as the resolution reached at the truce meeting with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has not been implemented.

The State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Sylvester Imonina, confirmed that the committees would be inaugurated on Friday when contacted.
