The national leader and convener of the influential political mobilising group, Ukodo Nation Forum (UNF), High Chief Morrison Olori, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his emergence as the 2027 governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the just-concluded party primary in the state.
Olori, who holds the coveted title of Obaseki of Ughelli Kingdom and chieftain of the APC, also felicitated with former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator Ede Dafinone and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas on their emergence as the senatorial candidates of the party in the state.
He also congratulated the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive; APC candidates for Ughelli North Constituency 1 and 2, Hon. Matthew Omonade Esq. and Chief Joseph Okoro, respectively.
The octogenarian’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Ughelli, Delta State.
Olorogun Olori noted that Governor Oborevwori was deserving of his nomination as the sole candidate of the party, considering his performance in the last three years as the governor of the oil-rich state, stressing that the governor’s excellent performance has won the hearts of the majority of Deltans.
He also praised the emergence of Senators Okowa, Dafinone, Joel-Onowakpo, Waive, and other candidates of the party, asserting that the choice of candidates would ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming election.
The octogenarian stated that now that the party primaries were over, it is time to reconcile all tendencies and aggrieved members of the party to solidify APC chances in the 2027 general elections in the state.
He assured that Ukodo Nation Forum would mobilise and canvass support for the party and their candidates, especially President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other candidates from the state.
“On behalf of leaders and members of Ukodo Nation Forum drawn from the three senatorial districts in Delta State, I wish to congratulate our performing and amiable Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of our party for the 2027 polls.
“Indeed, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has worked very hard to deserve the opportunity of being the sole aspirant and candidate of our party, APC, for the forthcoming general elections. Now that the primaries are done, it is our duty to mobilise Deltans for his re-election.
“We are also pleased to congratulate the immediate past governor of Delta State, H.E Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as the Delta North senatorial candidate, Senator Ede Dafinone, for his overwhelming victory as the Delta Central candidate, and Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas as APC Delta South candidate”, the statement partly read.
The Ukodo Nation Forum convener further called on aggrieved members and their supporters to return to the party to ensure the party’s victory in 2027.
