The support staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation have suspended indefinitely the ongoing protest at the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (Warri Refinery) in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the decision to suspend the protest was reached late Sunday evening during a meeting with host communities to the Warri Refinery.

The aggrieved workers had been protesting since last week Wednesday over alleged failure by NNPC to regularize their engagement and non-payment of outstanding salaries.
