President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow (Friday) address the Nation in a broadcast to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day otherwise known as June 12.
The Presidency disclosed this on Thursday in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.
It stated that the broadcast would come up at 7am on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria.
The statement enjoined media outlets in the country to hook up to both stations for the broadcast.
According to it, “To commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day, President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 7am.
“Television and radio stations as well as other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.”
Democracy Day was previous held annually on May 29 until President Buhari in 2018 declared June 12 as Democracy Day which was formerly Abiola Day to commemorate the annulled June 12, 1993 Presidential election believed to have been won by MKO Abiola.
