The leader of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in the last Saturday’s Presidential election, saying that the victory was “well deserved.”
Emerho, who was the 2015 governorship candidate of the APC in Delta, noted that the victory was to thank Mr President for his visible monumental achievements in the last four years in the country.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the APC leader, however, thanked APC supporters particularly those of Delta for their unflinching support and mobilizing for Buhari’s re-election.
Emerhor, in a copy of the statement made available to WARRI TODAY, said President Buhari would use the next four years to consolidate on his achievements in the area of peace, security, diversification of the economy and infrastructural development.
According to him, “I write on behalf of the Mainstream of APC in Delta State to congratulate our APC Presidential Candidate and now President-Elect, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for his landslide victory in the just concluded February 23rd 2019 presidential elections. We had no doubt that your victory was sure and well deserved in view of your visible monumental achievements in your first four years.
“We heartily congratulate you and hereby pledge our continuing support for you to accomplish your mission of taking Nigeria to the next level of progress and development.
“I also must thank Nigerians for voting to move the country forward and giving our dear President Four More Years to consolidate on the foundational achievements of his first four year.
“We APC Mainstream in Delta State are particularly grateful that Nigerians choose progress over moving backwards, and have by their votes affirmed the direction that President Buhari is taking our dear country.”
While congratulating APC members, he added, “I take this opportunity to congratulate and thank members of the Mainstream of APC in Delta State for their hard work and determination to deliver our President in this election despite all odds.
“In particular, allow me to congratulate especially the over 4000 recruited Buhari Canvassers, their Director General, Coordinators, Monitors and party leaders who provided them tactical support! As you can see, your efforts at canvassing and monitoring and protecting the vote on Election Day have paid off.
“I’m most grateful that following my ardent call to duty and the launching of the Buhari Canvassers Door To Door Programme on February 9, 2019, you invaded Delta State to bring out the votes for our dear President. Indeed, even though we didn’t achieve our projected target of 400,000 votes, the 221,292 votes achieved represent a first in Delta State.”
The Delta APC leader, however, assured Mr President of the continued support of the people of the Niger Delta region towards moving the nation forward for enduring peace and development.
