Gov Okowa Appoints Former Delta Commissioner As New SSG

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has appointed Chief Patrick Ukah as the new Secretary to the State Government.

Ukah, a former commissioner for Information during Okowa’s first term, was the immediate past commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in the recently dissolved State Executive Council.

The Okpanam-born politician is also the current chairman of the Delta Stat chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Ukah’s appointment was contained in a statement signed by Head of Service / Functioning Secretary to State Government, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, on Friday.

The new SSG and other nine Advisers recently appointed by the Governor would be sworn-in on Monday in Asaba.

“It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Deltans, that His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has approved the appointment of Chief Patrick Ukah as Secretary to the Delta State Government.

“The date for the inauguration of the new Secretary to the State Government and the nine (9) earlier announced appointees, for the positions of Chief Economic Adviser, Political Advisers and Special Advisers have been scheduled for Monday, 7th June, 2021 at 9.30am at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba”, the statement said.
