Arms-wielding hoodlums have reportedly kidnapped four persons along the Lagos-Asaba Road near Agbor in Delta State.

The incident took place at Boji-Boji Owa in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state on Friday evening.

The gunmen, sources claimed, were herdsmen had ambushed their targets after the Railway Bridge while inspecting a parcel of land around the area.

It was gathered that the area has been under hoodlums attack in recent times as many others have been reportedly kidnapped in the area in the past.

One of our sources said, “The four victims were inspecting a parcel of land area the Railway Bridge when the gunmen with sophisticated weapons ambushed them. They dragged the victims to unknown destination.

“Till this morning, we have not heard anything from the victims or their kidnappers. Gunmen have been terrorizing the area of late. The hoodlums are believed to be herdsmen who have laid siege to the route.

Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the abduction of the four victims on Saturday, added that the incident was reported late Friday evening.

She said the command has intensified efforts to rescue the victims from their abductors.
