A video in circulation in which Senator Ned Nwoko is seen and heard throwing diatribes at the incumbent governor of Delta State HE Sheriff Oborevwori, is, to say the least, unfortunate and unbecoming of a man of his stature.
The video contradicts known channels of communication open to a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is an incursion into the world of grandstanding for personal gain and attention.
Need we remind him of the years of cooperative silence that Delta Central went through in the last eight years? Need we remind him that Delta Central felt utterly neglected for reasons that are as bewildering as they were unfortunate in the last eight years? Delta Central showed understanding as the administration concentrated on developing the north as the primary constituency of the immediate past governor. Senator Nwoko should put his ears on the ground.
Need we remind him that the incumbent governor has spread projects throughout the state?
An elder does not open his mouth to say everything that comes to their mind. There is reticence. There is mutual cooperation. There is advocacy. Governor Oborevwori should be given support to deliver on his MORE agenda. Those who are close to him know that he does not believe in neglecting any part of the state. If he had not taken steps to revamp Warri infrastructure, there would have been an uproar in Delta South and Central.
Senator Ned Nwoko should, therefore, focus on attracting federal and global funds like his counterparts elsewhere in the country to support the government of the day. Live and let live is instrumental to peace and security in the state.
