There was pandemonium on Monday when a house wife reportedly hacked her husband to death around Kulup street off Ekrejegbo in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the deceased and the wife were having disagreement when the suspect reportedly used cutlass to hacked him from behind on the head.
Trouble was said to have started when the deceased who slept out the previous night returned home to the hand of his angry wife on Monday morning.
Disagreement was said to have degenerated into physical battle when the suspect attacked the deceased.
The woman who attempted to run after killing the man was apprehended by youths and neighbours in the area.
Meanwhile, there was tension at the Ughelli Central Hospital when mob attempted to set the woman ablaze after the husband was confirmed dead.
The woman was, however, rescued by police operatives from the Ughelli Police Area Command.
The mob who attempted breaking into the station for the suspect were later dispersed with sporadic gunshots.
When contacted, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
Edafe told our correspondent that the incident occurred when the couple were having disagreement.
He also confirmed that the woman has been arrested and was currently undergoing interrogation in police custody.
