A self-acclaimed pastor has been caught with a bag of ‘Ghana must go’ containing used female pants in the polytechnic community of Auchi Federal Polytechnic, Edo State.

The suspect who was simply identified as Pastor Emeka was caught by residents of Aforkha Street in the South-Ibie, Etsako West local Government Council of the state on Wednesday.

It was not clear what he planned to do with the female undies.

Sources in the area told WARRI TODAY that the ‘pastor’ narrowly escaped being lynched to death by angry mob.

Students of the Auchi Poly, who witnessed the incident, also confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

According to a student of Computer Science, who preferred to be identified as Osato said the suspect operates his church from his private residence.

The student who spoke in pidgin recounted that, “On Wednesday morning, residents caught a popular pastor who usually preaches every morning with a bag of ‘Ghana Must Go’ full with female pants, bra and pads.

“He was caught with the help of South-Ibie vigilante squad, who also led him to his house. Upon search on his apartment by the vigilante it was discovered that the house was like a store where female pants were being sold.”

Other sources who spoke said they suspect the undies were for ritual purpose.

Investigation has it that the suspect had been reportedly handed over to the police in Auchi for further investigation.
