Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with his predecessor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, on his 67th birthday anniversary and the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, HRM Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), on his 60th birth anniversary, describing both leaders as outstanding personalities whose lives of service have positively impacted Delta State.
In separate goodwill messages issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor paid glowing tributes to the former governor and the revered monarch for their enduring contributions to governance, peace, development and human capital advancement.
Congratulating Senator Okowa, Governor Oborevwori described his political journey as one marked by God’s grace, dedication, experience and unwavering commitment to the growth of Delta State and Nigeria.
He noted that the former governor had built an impressive record of public service, rising from Secretary of the defunct Ika Local Government Council and pioneer Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Council to Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator of the Federal Republic and Governor of Delta State for two consecutive terms.
According to the Governor, Okowa’s vast experience in governance, coupled with his passion for development, has earned him a distinguished place in the political history of the state.
He added that the former governor’s eight-year administration recorded significant achievements across critical sectors and laid a strong foundation for the continued development of Delta State.

“Your tenure as Governor left important footprints in the development of our state, while your continuing commitment to peace, unity and progress remains worthy of commendation.

Governor Oborevwori also congratulated the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, HRM Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), on attaining the age of 60, describing him as an exemplary traditional ruler whose reign has been defined by wisdom, purposeful leadership and an unwavering commitment to the peace and development of his kingdom.
The Governor noted that the monarch, who serves as the First Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, has spent more than 28 years on the throne promoting stability, unity and the welfare of his people.
He praised the royal father for his invaluable contributions to the traditional institution in Delta State, recalling his previous service as Second Vice Chairman of the council before his elevation to the current position.
Oborevwori also commended the monarch’s passion for education and youth development through scholarship programmes for deserving indigenes of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, describing the initiative as a testament to his commitment to building a better future for younger generations.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta State, I warmly congratulate HRM Stanley Perediegha Luke-Kalanama VIII (JP), Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, on the joyous occasion of his 60th birth anniversary.
“Your Majesty’s 28 years on the throne have been characterised by dedicated service, wise counsel and an unwavering commitment to the progress of your people and the advancement of the traditional institution in Delta State.
“As you celebrate this important milestone, it is my prayer that Almighty God will continue to bless you with sound health, greater wisdom, strength and many more fruitful years of service to your kingdom, Delta State and our dear country,” the Governor said.
