The U3 Political Front (UPF), a pressure group within the All Progressives Congress, on Monday called on former lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi, to contest the House of Representatives seat for Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the 2027 General Election.
The call was made at the group’s meeting held at Ekete Inland in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, where members deliberated on political developments ahead of the next electoral cycle.
In a statement signed by its Chairman/Coordinator, Comrade Udurukevwe Omonigho, the group said its decision followed “extensive and painstaking deliberations” on the leadership needs of the constituency.
The UPF described Ahwinahwi as a “selfless, tested and impactful leader,” adding that his past representation remained unmatched.
“After a careful evaluation of the kind of leadership the constituency requires at this defining moment, Rt. Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi stands out as the most suitable candidate,” the statement read.
The group, therefore, urged him to present himself for service under the platform of the APC in the forthcoming election.
Ahwinahwi, a two-term member of the House of Representatives, was commended for what the group described as his commitment to human capital development and empowerment of youths and women during his tenure.
It added that his experience and political influence would help attract more federal presence and development to the constituency.
The group also noted that Ahwinahwi’s grassroots appeal and wide acceptance across the three local government areas position him as a unifying figure capable of strengthening representation at the national level.
“As the 2027 General Election approaches, the moment is both critical and opportune. The constituency deserves experienced leadership and proven performance,” the statement added.
The UPF maintained that Ahwinahwi remains best suited to provide such leadership.
