The highly anticipated Africa for Peace Sports Festival is set to kick off on November 15, 2025, marking the second edition of this vibrant celebration of sports and unity.
The event, which commemorates the International Day for Tolerance, promises an exciting lineup of competitions designed to foster peace, talent discovery, and community engagement across Delta State and beyond.
This year’s festival features a diverse range of sporting activities including gym competitions, Scrabble, snooker, table tennis, and mini football, with chess and fuss-football showcased as thrilling demonstration games.
With a whopping Ten Million Naira (₦10,000,000.00) prize pot and attractive consolidation awards, the festival is poised to be the most memorable edition yet.
Former Nigeria Super Eagles midfielder Edema Fuludu has been appointed as Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) by festival initiator Ambassador Mulade Sheriff, Ph.D.
Fuludu expressed his gratitude for the appointment and pledged to work closely with the organizing team to deliver a world-class event.
“It is a privilege to be part of this noble initiative promoting peace through sports. We are committed to ensuring the success of this year’s festival,” Fuludu stated.
A major highlight will be the Mini Football competition, divided into two categories: Under 25-45 years and 46 years and above. The competition will strictly enforce game rules, underscoring the commitment to fairness and sportsmanship.
Ambassador Sheriff, who also serves as Chairman of the Delta State Mini Football Association, revealed that the festival will provide a crucial platform for scouting promising players.
The Nigeria Mini Football Association scouting delegation will be actively identifying talent to recruit for the national team ahead of upcoming international tournaments.
“This festival is not just about competition; it’s about building bridges and providing opportunities for young and veteran players to shine on the national stage,” Ambassador Sheriff remarked.
Athletes, sports enthusiasts, and community members interested in participating in this landmark festival are encouraged to register immediately to secure their place. Registration is open across all categories and events.
