Dafinone Congratulates Peter Igho As Sultan Of Sokoto Confers Traditional Title On Urhobo Chief

Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has extended warm congratulations to Olorogun Peter Igho, MFR, on his recent conferment of the traditional title Kakakin Daular Usmaniya of Sokoto by His Eminence, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, CFR, the Sultan of Sokoto.

In a statement released on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Abuja, Senator Dafinone described the honour as a fitting recognition of Olorogun Igho’s decades of service to national unity, cultural preservation, and leadership.

Joining other proud Urhobos, Deltans, and Nigerians in celebrating the President of the Urhobo Leadership Forum, Dafinone hailed Igho as a respected statesman and bridge-builder. He noted that Olorogun Igho has remained a shining example of selfless leadership and dedication to the nation.

“Olorogun Peter Igho is a cultural icon and a true nation-builder whose life and work have positively impacted countless lives,” Senator Dafinone said. “This prestigious title from the Sultan is both symbolic and richly deserved.”

The Senator further stressed the importance of honouring individuals who promote unity, cultural harmony, and traditional values, noting that Olorogun Igho exemplifies these ideals through his enduring contributions.
