Uduaghan: SMK Tackles Egbema Group Over Attack On Former Delta Governor

Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan

The Secretary to Warri North Council, Hon. Khalil Samuel, fondly called SMK, has warned Egbema Unity Forum (EUF) to desist and immediately stop further campaign of calumny against former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Samuel, one of the political sons of Uduaghan, noted that EUF, an Ijaw Group in Warri North, is spreading hate against the former governor over the choice of his daughter, Orode, for the position commissioner in the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s government.

In a statement on Friday, the Warri North Council Secretary called on Ijaw leaders particularly Egbema political class to call the group to order.

The Egbema Unity Forum had in a recent press statement alleged that it was the turn of the Ijaws of Egbema in Warri North to produce the next commissioner from the council.

The group also accused the former governor of ceding the commissionership slot for the council to her daughter who campaigned vigorously for Oborevwori’s victory at the polls.

But Samuel in the statement made available to NIGER DELTA TODAY maintained that Ms Orode Uduaghan is eminently qualified to occupy the position if Governor Oborevwori finds her suitable to serve in his government.

“I think it is time for the Egbema People of Warri North to caution members of the Egbema Unity Forum. Whether faceless or not, they should be called to order!
They cannot be hiding behind a faceless group to express their mechandise selfish interest and hate. The fact that we have been quiet doesn’t mean, we are fools.

“They cannot continue to attack our leader because they want political office. If you want any office, lobby for it. Former Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan is not in your League.

“This will be my first and last warning to the faceless group. I Know Egbema leaders will not also fold their hands and watch this group try to cause disaffection between Itsekiri and Ijaws of Warri North.

“We are brothers and we will continue to live as brothers.

“Capt Sinebe’s sons can be local government chairman, commissioner and House of Assembly member in Patani, but Dr Uduaghan’s daughter can’t be commissioner in Warri North is a laughable campaign”, the statement partly read.
